‘Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organising without Organisations’ had been recommended to me several times. I didn’t get around to buying a copy until a few weeks back – and am glad I didn’t let it slip by.
In this 2008 book Clay Shirky has a close look at how social networking tools have changed the way many aspects of modern life happen. From finding a missing phone to the challenges for print based enterprises to political and social activism, Shirky details how social networking tools have enabled the change.
If you haven’t read this book yet, I thoroughly recommend it – a Must Read. So many times I found my self thinking ‘Now I understand!’.
Clay Shirky has a website and blog about the book here.
